OPEN HEART CITY

OPEN HEART CITY

This project distinguishes between two parts, the first one of investigation on Magdalen's laundries.

It is a group project in which the part expressed here is about these laundries, with the addition of schools for boys and girls and houses for mothers with children (not married).

A literary study was also made on the specific place to be dealt with, which will be reflected in the project of the second part.

This is based on an urban planning strategy in place and with the site itself. To this end, we propose some connecting elements between the public areas already existing in Dublin, all fenced so far and, due to their highly dangerous area.

The aim is to make the area safer by mixing the typology of people in the area, in addition to improving urban spaces with a link to the new proposal.

Finally, on the project plot, next to the urban space, a pavilion is proposed that is the one that interweaves all the other urban spaces and in what is built, a cultural centre and protection houses for those affected by gender violence in its much.
